Another week and another new dealer at The Old Cinema.  Elliot Connor has been building luxury homes for 20 years and has recently moved into interiors, specialising in beautifully polished metal and upcycling his own pieces such as the famous 'Clock' Table.  Elliot is fond of all kinds of vintage lighting as well as industrial style storage such as this Printers Chest.  So if you're redecorating your bachelor pad come and check out his showroom on the first floor.

P.s. Watch out for the Alligator on guard!!

The Old Cinema is proud to welcome new dealer Alice Clarke! Alice is our youngest dealer in the shop at 22, but she knows how to spot and restore a good piece of furniture. She spent the past four years learning traditional furniture restoration at college and restores everything herself. It's no easy task as Alice explains, 'Patience is a virtue when it comes to these skills and many of them are dying crafts, such as French polishing and traditional upholstery. '

Alice views buying antique instead of modern is an investment that is both stylish and green:
'In a world where everything feels increasingly disposable, vintage furniture can offer value for money and quality. If something has lasted even fifty years, chances are it still has a lot of life in it!'

Alice goes for a 'style that is of mixed textures. Stripped metal against smooth wood, peeling paint with polished surfaces. I buy pieces that I would like to live with in my own home, which have a practical use.'

Alice's space is located at the back of the ground floor near the large wood doors. She will be bringing up new stock again on Wednesday the 26th, so be on the look out!

As of this weekend we will be halfway through our January sale, which has been proving to be as popular as ever. I have selected a few items in the shop that have been reduced to a seriously good price. Have a look to see what's up for grabs! We had a pair of these extremely comfortable 1960's fibreglass and leather chairs by Airborne, but one of them is now located in Italy!

The remaining chair above has been reduced from £650 to £495.

Elvis has not left the building just yet... The 'Dead Elvis' screenprint above by Paul Insect is limited edition and has long since sold out. We have Number 50 out of 100. The price was £695 and has been reduced to £395.

This Mid-Century haberdashers cabinet has been reduced from £1485 to £1195

Coromandel stationers cabinets such as this one are quite rare. This example is no exception! It was priced at £1250 but is now £695

Remember, the sale ends January 31st, so stop by as soon as you can!
