Earlier this year video director Richard Price of The RIR created a fantastic vintage themed RnB Music Video for singer-songwriter Juliyaa, with props courtesy of The Old Cinema. The two day shoot was filmed at South East London's Tank Art Gallery.

The video theme fuses motion graphics and energetic performances saluting the glamorous styles of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. The shoot culminated in a great piece featuring talented dancers, musicians and amazing props which all added to the electric feel and stylish nature of this music promo.

The RIR team have since come back to The Old Cinema to shoot a video for us, so look out for that in the near future! http://therir.com/

At The Old Cinema we are huge fans of Lucy Turner's upcycled furniture, and are delighted to have some pieces from her latest collection. These include chests of drawers, a telephone stand and few other bits you are sure to love. The colours are bright and summery, with stripey fabrics and glass etchings of coconuts reminiscent of a warm day on the beach.
Come check them our for yourself!

See you in the shop

Exclusive to the Old Cinema, each one of these lamps is hand made in the United States from original American vintage industrial parts, including gas piping, gears, gagues and switches. Each one has a great amount of detail and character, and no two will ever be exactly alike. They would pair up well with one of our polished steel industrial desk, leather club chairs, or even one of our upcycled mangle cloth armchairs! These lamps are extremely solid, well-built, and will last for many generations to come.

Our latest collection of vintage cocktail glasses are now in stock and dotted around the shop These came from America and range from the 1950's to the 1970's. Styles include high ball glasses, champagne flutes, martini glasses, whisky tumblers and more. My favourites are the neon cocktail glasses with matching pitchers.  There are more to come in the following weeks so keep a look out!
