Everyone needs a good chair, one you can call YOUR chair, the one so clearly marked as yours that nobody else dare sits in it lest they be struck down by lightning. Only the dog may sit near this chair, but only to grovel at its feet.

It could be the chair you come home to sit and have a nice glass of scotch, to smoke your tobacco of choice, to sleep the afternoon away, or perhaps just to ponder the days events.

Or maybe youre Camille Renault and you need a good sturdy 1940s French club chair to think about your latest artwork.... maybe not.

However, even if you arent Camille, we regularly have an amazing selection of original 1940s French Leather club chairs in stock, in a variety of shades ranging from dark Oxblood red to the blondest of caramel tones.

I know if my flat had the space, you can bet Id have both of these two in a heartbeat. I have to agree with my colleague Paul that these are indeed the sexiest chairs we have had in the shop. Just dont tell Mr. Renault we stole his.

Happy New Year everyone!

Its a new year, and Ive resolved to have more frequent posts on here. There has been some excitement in the shop in the month of January since we are in our bi-annual sale. Most of the dealers in the shop have items reduced down to 15% or more on their wares, so you can probably assume that items dont hang around for long. The sale ends on the 31st, so jump in the pool while you still can!

One of the coolest things was brought into our shop by a dealer two weeks ago, which was a retro pinball machine in full working order. The 'Nip-It' , made by Bally, was produced in 1972 and used on the set of the American television series Happy Days, in Arnolds cafe. We barely even got to have a go, since it lasted on the sales floor for 6 hours before someone 'snapped' it up! Zing! Imagine that, a 1970s pinball machine used on a 1950s themed TV program...

Speaking of television, we have a bit of a celebrity in the shop now (no, not you Paul!). The  Head Cheese around here, Martin Hanness, did a bit of filming for an upcoming program with Mary Portas and the BBC. Stay Tuned for Details, but in the meantime you can read a bit about Mary and some of the shows she has done in the past:

And last but not least, our next door neighbors SOHO House are going to be doing a bit of expanding. Not next to us, but in Berlin, which now gives me an excuse to finally visit Germany! We have been working closely with them on the project, and you can expect the new digs to open early this year:

SOHO HOUSE

Thanks for your loyal readership, and I promise to keep these updates frequent!
